Quick and accurate 

On average, it takes at least 30 minutes for a specialist in oral radiology to analyze a CBCT, taking many days to return the report to the dental office.

Radiological findings of conditions are generated by Diagnocat within 10 seconds for 2D images and 4-6 minutes for CBCT images; these reports provide a quick screening tool for common dental pathologies. Artificial intelligence helps the dentist analyze the images and highlights these detected conditions helping the dental professionals be more productive.

Increasing treatment acceptance 

 The main goal of the initial appointment is not only to create a treatment plan, but also to obtain the patient’s consent to the treatment plan. Often patients do not understand dental terminology or cannot visualize pathologies in 2D. Showing 3D pathologies helps case presentation and acceptance.  Patients also might forget the diagnosis and treatment recommendations immediately after the visit. As a result, they seek a second opinion and select a simpler or less expensive option.

Diagnocat produces a report that helps explain the detected conditions and treatment plan in a simple, comprehensible way. This report can be printed in the office or emailed as a PDF to the patient. A clear graphic summary of the results provides transparency and increases the chance that the patient would remain in your office.

CBCT

Patented automatic panoramic reformation:

The automatically-generated panoramic reconstruction is a unique feature for a quick case review. The quality of this reformation gives the dental professional the ability to detect from the reformation.

The dental chart helps the clinician to navigate through the entire volume, while clearly marking teeth with previous treatments and newly-found conditions.

In the tooth card, the clinician can evaluate the images in two ways:

  •  Multiplanar reconstruction (MPR) or 3D viewer
  •  A complete series of automatically-generated cross sections 

A preset draft of dental findings can be adjusted by a couple of clicks for each tooth. It includes pathologies and conditions color-coded on the tooth chart.

Examples of use

The dental chart helps to navigate in the region of interest. An extended tooth card appears, with detected conditions, including their % probabilities from the AI.

To get more information about a tooth, without having to go back to your imaging software there are two useful functions: – Multiplanar view (MPR), where the field of view is limited to a single tooth volume. Diagnocat allows moving the axes interactively for a more detailed analysis and production of customized sectional views that can be added to the automatically-generated sections. – View of previously constructed tooth sections. Diagnocat generates a series of sectional images in the main projections. The algorithm might highlight possible problem areas, to focus the dentist’s attention.

After the clinician looks through Diagnocat’s suggestions, he/she can accept or reject them, add comments, and supplement the report with additional photos or images.

The next stage is to prepare a report with findings and conditions. It contains a dental chart and a description of each tooth, in a printable PDF file. All teeth with detected treatable conditions are highlighted in red - convenient when discussing the report with the patient. The report perfectly complements the treatment plan. The patient now has a clear association between his conditions and the required treatment. For improved understanding, a simplified one-page report can be generated for the patient, including a reformatted panoramic view and a color-coded dental chart.
